After Rev. Wright's first rant, most people were shocked, including me.Marlin gave a great sermon explaining what he though Rev. Wright meant. Rev. Wright was sent the sermon by others, and in return Rev. Wright wrote us a very nice letter of thanks for Marlin's take on the situation.I thought this was the happy ending of this verbal misunderstanding. WRONG!I recently heard several crackpot comments from this man come over the national news. Comments that were apparently made after the original ones that hit the mainstream media. What is wrong with this man? Obama has now broken with his pastor of many years over the latest remarks from his previous pastor. I've heard people on TV says things to the effect of this not being like the man that pastored them for many years. True or not, I think this man has become medically insane.I hope Marlin has the backbone to reply to the letter and ask Rev. Wright what in the HELL he is thinking and that he is not helping, only hurting...Jeff
I am still overjoyed that Tamara Lebak was voted to be come one of our called ministers. This was the first vote I had ever seen in our "voting church". I have been at All Souls about a year and a half. While I am well pleased of the outcome of the "calling" vote, I think it should have been done by a secret ballot process. In the way the "calling" voting was done inhibits people from voting against the majority for fear of being singled out or looked down upon. I know that we like our openness of beliefs, but I feel that a "real vote" would have to be anonymous. Also, why is this the first vote I have seen in just over a year? Shouldn't we not vote on 90% of church operations, and not just let an executive position dominate all the decisions?Jeff
I can not express how proud I am to have Tamara Lebak to be called as minister at All Souls. She is such a well rounded and wonderful person. Thanks to EVERYONE in our Church for finding such great people to plant throughout our organization.Jeff
